Chirata is a medicinal herb originally found in the Himalayas, which is used in traditional medicine. It is also used for alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks. Hence, Chirata also called the ‘bitter tonic’ tastes bitter and is beneficial in curing diseases. It is characterized by the properties of healing constipation, diarrhea, jaundice, weakness of the heart, blood disorders, diabetes, arthritis, and skin diseases.

Consuming chirata helps in calming the mind and reduce inflammation. Chirata reduces chest pain and cures various diseases of the uterus. It works to clean the blood. Its bitterness is the special property of this medicine.

Benefits of Chirata

Good cure for anemia-

Chirata is used as a herb in Ayurveda. It protects the body from anemia. Its leaves contain the vitamin and mineral haematinic, which helps the blood to form in the body. Therefore, Chirata is used in home remedies for curing anemia.

Beneficial for curing fever, cough, and cold-

Chirata has anti-viral properties, which protect us from viral infection problems like cough, fever, and colds.

Helpful in increasing appetite-

Consumption of Chirata helps to increase appetite. It increases the secretion of bile, which increases our appetite.

Chirata has amarogentin property which acts as an anti-cancer and inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Hence Chirata is also used to protect against diseases such as cancer.

Chirata reduces the problem of excessive thirst. For this, kadha made of Guduchi, Sugandhabala, Coriander, pointed gourd along with chirata reduce the problem of feeling excessively thirsty.
