कोकिलाक्ष, जिसे आमतौर पर इक्षुरा या तालमखाना कहा जाता है। आयुर्वेद में यह एक शक्तिशाली आयुर्वेदिक जड़ी बूटी है। इसे कुली, इक्षुरा और इक्षुगंधा के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। जिसका अर्थ है "भारतीय कोयल की तरह आंखें रखना"। कोकिलाक्ष पूरे भारत में जल स्रोतों, खेतों और दलदलों के आसपास पाया जाता है। इसका एक अलग गुण यह है कि कोकिलाक्ष के बीज पानी के संपर्क में आकर फूल जाते हैं और पतले हो जाते हैं। औषधीय गुणों से भरपूर होने के कारण आयुर्वेद में इसका उपयोग विभिन्न बीमारियों के इलाज के लिए किया जाता है। इसका वैज्ञानिक नाम हाइग्रोफिला ऑरीकुलाटा (Hygrophila auriculata) है। /p>

मण्डूकपर्णी को आम बोलचाल की भाषा में गोटू कोला के नाम से जाना जाता है। यह एक प्राचीन सुगंधित बारहमासी जड़ी बूटी है। मंडुकपर्णी की उत्पत्ति संस्कृत भाषा के दो शब्दों से हुई है। पहला ‘मंडूक’ जिसका शाब्दिक अर्थ मेढक और दूसरा ‘पर्णी' अर्थात पत्तियां होती है। इन तथ्यों के आधार पर कहा जा सकता है किइसकी पत्तियों का आकार चमड़ी वाले मेंढक के पैरों जैसा दिखता है। मण्डूकपर्णी एक लता होती है जिसकी जड़ें शाखाओं की गांठों पर होती हैं। इसका वैज्ञानिक नाम सेंटेला एशियाटिका (Centella Asiatica) है।

मण्डूकपर्णी समशीतोष्ण और उष्णकटिबंधीय जलवायु में पाया जाता है और पूरे विश्व में इसकी खेती की जाती है। आमतौर पर यह एशियाई क्षेत्रों में पाया जाने वाला एक फूल वाला पौधा है, जिसे खाने और चिकित्सीय प्रयोजन में प्रयोग किया जाता है।

मण्डूकपर्णी के औषधीय गुण

मण्डूकपर्णी में विभिन्न प्रकार के औषधीय गुण पाए जाते हैं, जो कई शारीरिक समस्याओं के इलाज में मदद करते हैं। यह इस प्रकार हैं

  • एडाप्टोजेन (Adaptogen) - शरीर को तनाव मुक्त रखने में मदद करता है।
  • एनाल्जेसिक (Analgesic)- दर्द से राहत दिलाता है।
  • एंजियोजेनिक (Angiogenic)- नई रक्त वाहिकाओं के निर्माण को बढ़ावा देता है।।
  • एंटी कंवलसेन्ट (Anticonvulsant)- दौरे को रोकने या राहत देने का काम करता है।
  • अवसाद रोधी (Antidepressant)- अवसाद से राहत दिलाता है।

  • एंटी स्ट्रेस (Anti-stress)- तनाव दूर करता है।
  • एंटी कैंसर (Anticancer)- ट्यूमर के विकास को रोकता है।
  • एंटी अल्सर (Antiulcer)- अल्सर का इलाज करता है।
  • मूत्रवर्धक (Diuretics)- मूत्र के उत्सर्जन को बढ़ावा देता है।
  • डेपुरेटिव Depurative- शुद्ध करने वाला एजेंट है।
  • इम्यूनोमॉड्यूलेटरी (Immunomodulatory)- रोग-प्रतिरोधक क्षमता या प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली के कार्य प्रणाली में सुधार करता है।
  • शामक (Sedative)- शांति को बढ़ावा एवं नींद को प्रोत्साहित करता है।

आयुर्वेद में मण्डूकपर्णी का महत्व

आयुर्वेद के अनुसार, तंत्रिका तंत्र का प्रबंधन वात द्वारा किया जाता है। वात असंतुलन खराब मानसिक सतर्कता का कारण बनता है। मण्डूकपर्णी अपने मध्य (मस्तिष्क-टॉनिक) गुणों के कारण मानसिक सतर्कता और याददाश्त में सुधार करने में मदद करता है।

मण्डूकपर्णी के फायदे

  • अपच के इलाज में कारगर मण्डूकपर्णी का सेवन करने से अग्नि (पाचन अग्नि) को बढ़ाने में मदद मिलती है। साथ ही इसके दीपन (भूख बढ़ाने वाले) गुणों के कारण भोजन के पाचन को आसान बनाता है। जिससे अपच का इलाज होता है।
  • चिंता कम करने में सहायकमण्डूकपर्णी अपनी गतिविधियों के कारण चिंता को कम करने में मदद करती है। यह उन मध्यस्थों के प्रभाव को कम करती है जो चिंता का कारण बनते हैं। यह व्यवहार परिवर्तन और हार्मोन रिलीज को संतुलित करके न्यूरोट्रांसमीटर के कार्य को भी नियंत्रित करती है।
  • मधुमेह को नियंत्रित करने में लाभप्रदमधुमेह त्रिदोष विकृति के कारण होता है। इससे शरीर में आम या टॉक्सिन्स का निर्माण बढ़ जाता है। ऐसे में मण्डूकपर्णी दोषों को संतुलित करती है। साथ ही शरीर में मौजूद विषाक्त पदार्थों को बाहर निकालने में मदद करती है। यह पाचक होने के साथ साथ एक अग्नि दीपक या क्षुधावर्धक के रूप में भी कार्य करती है, जो उच्च रक्त शर्करा को नियंत्रित करने में सहायक होता है । इस प्रकार, मंडुकपर्णी मधुमेह के उपचार में लाभकारी होती है।
  • मूत्र मार्ग संक्रमण (UTI) के इलाज में सहायकमूत्र मार्ग संक्रमण (UTI) पित्त दोष में असंतुलन के कारण होता है। मण्डूकपर्णी का सेवन पित्त को संतुलित करता है और मूत्र प्रवाह को बढ़ाता है। इस प्रकार मूत्र का उत्पादन मूत्र पथ में सूजन या इक्कठे हुए टॉक्सिन्स दूर करने मदद करता है।
  • लीवर की समस्या से बचाता हैपित्त दोष में असंतुलन के कारण लीवर की समस्या होती है। जब पित्त कम हो जाता है, तो यकृत के कार्य प्रणाली में बाधा उत्पन्न होने लगता है। ऐसे में मण्डूकपर्णी पित्त दोष को संतुलित करती है। साथ ही उसके कार्यप्रणाली में सुधार करती है। जिससे यकृत की समस्याओं का इलाज होता है।

मण्डूकपर्णी के उपयोग

  • फटी एड़ियों के लिएमण्डूकपर्णी चूर्ण को 7 भाग सिक्त (bee wax)के साथ मिलाकर एड़ियों की दरारों पर लगाएं।
  • एकाग्रता के लिएमण्डूकपर्णी चूर्ण के 1 ग्राम की मात्रा में दिन में दो बार दूध के साथ सेवन करने से एकाग्रता बढ़ती है।
  • अवसाद के लिएमण्डूकपर्णी चूर्ण को मुक्ता पिष्टी और जटामांसी चूर्ण के साथ मिलाकर सेवन करने से अवसाद दूर होता है।
  • मानसिक क्षमताओं में सुधार के लिएमण्डूकपर्णी चूर्ण को घी में मिलाकर सेवन करना फायदेमंद होता है। यह मस्तिष्क को बढ़ावा देने में मदद करता है जिससे मानसिक क्षमताओं में वृद्धि होती है।
  • चिंता को कम करने के लिएशंखपुष्पी पाउडर के साथ मण्डूकपर्णी पाउडर का सेवन चिंता को कम करने में सहायक होता है।
  • अनिद्रा रोग के लिए3 ग्राम मण्डूकपर्णी चूर्ण को रात में सोते समय दूध के साथ लेने से अनिद्रा की समस्या दूर होती है।
  • घाव भरने मेंमण्डूकपर्णी का बाहरी प्रयोग घाव को जल्दी भरने में मदद करता है।
  • मण्डूकपर्णी के दुष्प्रभाव

    कुचला क्या हैं? जानें इसके बारे में

    कुचला एक सदाबहार पौधा है, जो प्राचीन काल से ही अपने औषधीय गुणों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। आमतौर पर इस पौधे के बीजों का उपयोग चिकित्सीय प्रयोजनों के लिए उपचार के रूप में किया जाता है । इसका स्वाद कड़वा और गंध तेज़ होती है।

    इसका वैज्ञानिक नाम स्ट्राइक्नोस नक्स-वोमिका (strychnos nux-vomica) है। इसके अलावा कुचला को कई अन्य नामों से जाना जाता है, जिसमें कुछ विस्तिन्दु, काकातिंडुका, अजरकी, हब्बुल गुरब, कुसीला, कुचिला,नक्स वोमिका, कोंचला, झेर कोचला, ज़ेर कोचलू, मंजीरा, हेममुश्ती, इतोगी, कासरकेयी आदि हैं।

    आयुर्वेद में कुचला का महत्व

    आयुर्वेद के अनुसार, कुचला का प्रयोग करने से पहले उसे शुद्ध किया जाता है। शुद्धिकरण या शोधन को इतिहासों में बहुत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है इसकी शुद्धि के लिए गाय का मूत्र (गोमूत्र), गाय का दूध (गो दुग्ध) और गाय का घी (गो घृत) उपयुक्त माना गया है। इसमें कई तरह के औषधीय गुण पाए जाते हैं। जिसके कारण यह कई तरह के शारीरिक और मानसिक संबंधित समस्याओं को दूर करने का काम करता है।

    कुचला भूख बढ़ाने और पाचन क्रिया को ठीक करने में मदद करता है। साथ ही कब्ज की समस्या में भी लाभ प्रदान करता है है। यह मधुमेह रोगियों के लिए अच्छा होता है क्योंकि यह रक्त शर्करा के स्तर को कम करने में सहायक होता है। कुचला मस्तिष्क के कार्य को नियंत्रित करके तनाव को कम करता है ,जिससे अनिद्रा की समस्या को दूर करने भी मदद होती है। यह अपने मूत्रवर्धक प्रभाव के कारण पेशाब के दौरान होने वाली जलन जैसी मूत्र संबंधी समस्याओं के इलाज में भी उपयोगी है। इसके अतिरिक्त यह अपने वाजीकरण या कामोत्तेजक गुणों के कारण स्तंभन दोष जैसी यौन समस्याओं के इलाज के लिए जाना जाता है।

    कुचला का प्रयोग किन रूपों में किया जाता है?

    कुचला को विभिन्न रूपों में उपयोग किया जाता है। लेकिन आमतौर पर इसका इस्तेमाल करने से पहले डॉक्टर की सलाह जरुरी होता है। इसका उपयोग निम्न उल्लेखित रूपों में किया जाता है

    • इसका उपयोग विभिन्न चिकित्सीय परिस्थितियों के इलाज के लिए कच्ची जड़ी-बूटी के रूप में किया जाता है।
    • कुचला का उपयोग तेल के रूप में भी किया जाता है।
    • कुचला गोलियों और पाउडर के रूप में भी उपलब्ध है।।

    कुचला के लाभ

    • नपुंसकता कुचला में मौजूद वाजीकरण या कामोत्तेजक गुणों के कारण, यह स्तंभन दोष को दूर मदद करता है। साथ ही यह शुक्राणुओं की संख्या और शक्ति को बढ़ाकर पुरुष प्रजनन क्षमता को बढ़ाने में मदद करता है।
    • भूख बढ़ाता हैकुचला एक प्रभावी भूख उत्तेजक है। यह गैस्ट्रोइंटेस्टाइनल गतिविधि को बढ़ाने, कब्ज को रोकने और पाचन तंत्र को सुधारने के लिए जाना जाता है। इसलिए भूख बढ़ाने के लिए कुचला बहुत उपयोगी साबित होता है।
    • अवसाद को कम करने में सहायककुचला को अवसाद के लक्षणों का इलाज करने के लिए जाना जाता है क्योंकि यह वात को प्रभवित ढंग से संतुलित करने में मदद करता है।
    • माइग्रेनकुचला को माइग्रेन के इलाज में उपयोगी माना जाता है।
    • अस्थमाअस्थमा वात और कफ दोषों के असंतुलन के कारण होता है। यह दोनों असंतुलन मिलकर वायु को फेफड़ों में प्रवेश करने में मुश्किल बनाते हैं और सांस लेने में कठिनाई पैदा करते हैं। कुचला में कुछ यौगिक पाए जाते हैं, जिसमें कफ संतुलन गुण होते हैं। जो श्वसन क्रिया को सुचारु रूप से चलाने में मदद करते हैं। इस प्रकार यह अस्थमा के इलाज में सहायक होता है।
    • आमवात (Rheumatoid Arthritis)कुचला में सूजन कम करने वाले गुण (anti immflamatory properties) पाए जाने के कारण इसका इस्तेमाल आमवात में किया जाता है। आमवात के मरीज़ो में कुचला सूजन कम करने के साथ साथ अकड़ाहट में भी काफी आराम देता है जिससे मरीज़ को जोड़ों के दर्द में भी रहत मिलती है।
    • आम पाचक (Detoxification)कुचला एक अग्नि दीपन (पाचक अग्नि बढ़ने वाला) करने वाली औषधि है , जिसके कारण यह पेट में जमा हुए आम (toxins) का भी पाचन करता है।
    • चिंताकुचला अपने वात संतुलन गुणों के कारण चिंता को प्रबंधित और नियंत्रित करने में मदद करता है। यह चिंता के लक्षणों को काफी हद तक कम करता है।

    कुचला का उपयोग के दौरान बचाव और दुष्प्रभाव

    • यदि कोई लिवर की समस्या से पीड़ित हैं, तो इस स्थिति में कुचला के सेवन से परहेज करें।
    • गर्भावस्था एवं स्तनपान कराने वाली माताएं कुचला के सेवन से बचें।
    • कुचला के साथ एंटीसाइकोटिक दवाएं लेने से बचें।
    • हृदय रोग से पीड़ित मरीजों को कुचला का सेवन करने से पहले डॉक्टर की सलाह जरुर लें।

    यह निम्नलिखित दुष्प्रभाव का कारण बनता है

    • चक्कर आना।
    • उलटी लगना।
    • गर्दन और पीठ में अकड़न होना।
    • ऐंठन होना।
    • सांस लेने में तकलीफ महसूस करना।
    • शरीर में खुजली लगना।
    • बेचैनी होना।
    • मांसपेशियों में संकुचन होना।

    कटेरी के फायदे और नुकसान

    प्राचीन काल से ही आयुर्वेद में कई तरह की जड़ी-बूटियों का उपयोग किया जाता रहा है। जिसमें कई ऐसी जड़ी बूटियां हैं, जो अक्सर हमारे घरों , बगीचों और सड़कों के आस-पास देखने को मिलती हैं। लेकिन जानकारी के अभाव के कारण हम और आप उसका इस्तेमाल नहीं कर पाते हैं। ऐसी ही एक जड़ी बूटी कटेरी या कंटकारी है। जिसका उपयोग शरीर को कई बीमारियों से दूर रखने में मदद करता है। कटेरी को कटीला, रेंगनी, रिगणी, कटाली, कटयाली, भटकटैया आदि नाम से भी जाना जाता है।

    कटेरी क्या है?

    कटेरी एक कांटेदार पौधा है। यह सोलानासेया (Solanaceae) परिवार से संबंध रखता है। जिसका वैज्ञानिक नाम सोलनम जैंथोकार्पम (Solanum xanthocarpum) है। कटेरी को अंग्रेजी में येल्लो बेरीड नाइटशेड (Yellow berried nightshade) के नाम से पुकारा जाता है। इसके फल आकार में गोल होते हैं और खाने योग्य होते हैं। वहीं, कटेरी के फूल नीले रंग के होते हैं। इसकी पत्तियां अंडाकार और यह कांटों से भरी होती हैं।

    आयर्वेद में कटेरी का महत्व

    वैसे तो कटेरी की कई प्रजातियां होती हैं। लेकिन आयुर्वेद में मुख्य रूप से तीन प्रजातियों (छोटी कटेरी, बड़ी कटेरी और श्वेत कटेरी) का प्रयोग दवा बनाने में किया जाता है। इसकी जड़, पत्ते, फूल, फल और बीज में औषधीय गुण पाए जाते हैं। यह प्रकृति से कटु या तीख़ा और तासीर से गर्म होता है। जिसके कारण कटेरी का उपयोग अस्थमा,श्वास रोग, खाँसी , नज़ला, पाचन विकार, कान की सूजन, बवासीर, पेशाब के दौरान दर्द और संक्रमण और यौन स्वास्थ्य को बढ़ावा देने के लिए औषधि के तौर पर इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।

    कटेरी के फायदे

    • खांसी के लिए कटेरी खांसी के उपचार के लिए बेहद लाभकारी माना जाता है। इस पर किए गए शोध के मुताबिक, कटेरी की जड़ में एक्सपेक्टोरेंट अर्थात बलगम को बाहर निकालने वाले गुण मौजूद होते हैं। जिसके कारण खांसी के इलाज के लिए कटेरी को आयुर्वेदिक दवा के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। इसके अलावा, कटेरी के बीज में भी कफ निकालने वाले गुण पाए जाते हैं। इसलिए कटेरी, गिलोय और पित्तपापड़ा मिश्रित काढ़े का सेवन शरीर की रोग प्रतिऱोधक क्षमता बढाने के लिए बेहद फायदेमंद होता है। नोट: किसी भी प्रकार के काढ़े का सेवन करने से पूर्व उसे बनाने की विधि एवं उसे पिने की मात्रा के बारे में सम्पूर्ण जानकारी लेना अनिवार्य है।
    • बुखार के लिएबुखार को कम करने में कटेरी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। क्योंकि इसमें एंटीपाइरेटिक औषधीय गुण पाया जाता है। शोधकर्ताओं के अनुसार, कटेरी की जड़ बुखार के इलाज में लाभकारी साबित होती है। यही नहीं, इस पर किए गए शोध में बताया गया है कि कटेरी की जड़ से बने रस को मट्ठे और अदरक के रस के साथ मिलाकर सेवन करने से बुखार में आराम पहुंचता है।
    • अस्थमा के लिएकटेरी अस्थमा के मरीजों में बेहद कारगर साबित होती है। इस पर किए गए शोध से पता चलता है कि कटेरी में एंटी अस्थमैटिक गुण मौजूद होतें हैं , जो अस्थमा के लक्षणों को कम करने में सहायक होते हैं।
    • सिरदर्द के लिएसिरदर्द से राहत पाने के लिए कटेरी का प्रयोग सालों से किया जाता रहा है। इसके लिए कटेरी का काढ़ा बनाकर पी लें। ऐसा करने से सिर दर्द की समस्या से तुरंत राहत मिलती है। इसके अलावा कटेरी के फल के रस को माथे पर लेप की तरह लगाने से भी दर्द से राहत मिलती है।
    • शमिर्गी के लिएमिर्गी एक मस्तिष्क संबंधी समस्या है। जिसमें व्यक्ति को बार-बार दौरे पड़ने लगते हैं। ऐसे में इससे बचाव के लिए कटेरी बेहद लाभकारी साबित होतीहै। दरअसल, कटेरी में सोलासोडीन नामक यौगिक पाया जाता है,जो मिर्गी के उपचार में काफी लाभप्रद साबित होता है। इसके अलावा कटेरी की पत्तियों में आक्षेपरोधी (anticonvulsant) गुण पाए जाते हैं ,जिससे मिर्गी के दौरे को रोकने में कुछ हद तक मदद मिलती है।
    • दांत दर्द के लिएएनसीबीआई की वेबसाइट पर प्रकाशित एक शोध के मुताबिक, दांत दर्द की समस्या को दूर करने के लिए कटेरी लाभकारी होती है। दांत दर्द होने पर कटेरी की जड़, छाल, पत्ते और फल को पानी में उबालें। अब इस मिश्रण को छानकर इस पानी से कुल्ला करें। ऐसा करने से दांत दर्द की समस्या से राहत मिलती। इसके अलावा कटेरी पर किए गए एक अन्य शोध से पता चलता है कि यह एनाल्जेसिक यानी दर्द निवारक गुणों से भरपूर हैं। इसलिए कटेरी के बीज के धुएं का उपयोग दांत एवं मसूड़ों के दर्द से निजात दिलाने में लाभकारी होता है।
    • पेट दर्द के लिएपेट दर्द को दूर करने में भी कटेरी बेहद असरदार साबित होती है। इसके लिए कटेरी के फूल के बीजों का सेवन करें। इसके अलावा कटेरी के फूल के बीजों को पीसकर, उसे छाछ में मिलाकर सेवन करें। ऐसा करने से पेट दर्द में लाभ मिलता है। साथ ही दस्त की समस्या होने पर इसके बीजों का सेवन करने से दस्त से भी छुटकारा मिलता है।
    • लिवर के लिएलिवर संबंधी समस्याओं के लिए कटेरी का सेवन लाभकारी होता हैं। ऐसा माना जाता है कि कटेरी लिवर के लिए बहुत अच्छा टॉनिक होता है। इससे बने काढ़े का सेवन करने से लिवर की सूजन और इंफेक्शन की समस्या से छुटकारा मिलता है।

    • खांसी को दूर करने में कारगरखांसी को दूर करने में कर्कटशृंगी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है,क्योंकि यह कफ दोष को संतुलित रखने का काम करती है। कर्कटशृंगी के पौधे की छाल से बने काढ़े को सुबह खाली पेट सेवन करने से एवं कर्कटशृंगी पौधे की छाल का चूर्ण और शहद कोसमान मात्रा में मिलाकर रात को सोने से पहले गुनगुने पानी के साथ सेवन करने से खांसी की समस्या दूर होती है।
    • श्वसन संबंधी समस्याओं में लाभप्रदकर्कटशृंगी का उपयोग अस्थमा को ठीक करने, गले और सांस की समस्याओं को कम करने के लिए औषधि के तौर पर किया जाता है। यह एक्सपेक्टोरेंट (श्वसन मार्ग से बलगम को साफ करने में सहायक) के रूप में कार्य करता है। 1-2 ग्राम कर्कटशृंगी चूर्ण में कायफल चूर्ण को मिलाकर शहद के साथ सेवन करने से श्वसन संबंधी समस्याओं में लाभ मिलता है।
    • बच्चों के लिए उपयोगीकर्कटशृंगी का सेवन बच्चों में होने वाले कई तरह के रोगों से निजात दिलाने में मदद करता है । आयुर्वेद चिकित्सा के मुताबिक, छोटे बच्चों में अधिक कफ दोष ही शरीर को प्रभावित करता है। इसलिए इन सभी बीमारियों से बचने के लिए रोजाना सुबह खाली पेट, आधा चम्मच (1ग्रा -1.5 ग्रा ) कर्कटशृंगी की छाल और आधा चम्मच पिप्पली के चूर्ण को मिलाकर गुनगुने पानी के साथ सेवन करें। ऐसा करने से कफ दोष से संबंधित सभी समस्याओं में लाभ मिलता है।

    Lodhra is a medicinal tree, which belongs to the family Symplocaceae whose botanical name is Symplocos Racemosa. It is found in many places in India.     What is Lodhra?

    Lodhra trees are medium-sized and evergreen and have two species. First one is Lodhra and second is Pathani Lodhra. Its bark is thin and scaly while the leaves are circular or oval, 3 to 4 inches long. The stalks of its leaves are small and velvety. Its flowers are small in size and found in clusters in white and light yellow color and are fragrant. Generally, the flowers bloom from November to February. The fruits are purple in color and about 1 to 1.5 inches in size having 2-3 seeds inside. Its roots, bark, flowers and leaves are used in Ayurvedic medicine for treating many diseases.

    Benefits of Lodhra

    • Beneficial for eyesLodhra is traditionally used to cure eye problems. The antioxidant properties in it helps in relieving watery and sore eyes, swelling, redness and other eye diseases. For this, make powder by roasting Lodhra and Mahua in ghee. Now make a paste of this powder with milk and apply it on the eyelids.
