According to Ayurveda, when the deranged Vata vitiates the mamsa (muscular tissue), shonita (blood) and meda (adipose tissue) mixed up with Kapha, they produce circular and raised inflammatory swelling called “GRANTHI” which can be comparable in modern science with ‘CYST’.
