Frankincense is also known as Lohbaan, Shyam Dhoop in Sanskrit, and Hasnlub in Persian.

It is believed that its fragrance brings peace to the body and mind. What is Frankincense oil?

Frankincense oil is prepared from the resin of the frankincense tree whose scientific name is Boswellia sacra, which belongs to the Burseraceae Family. According to Ayurveda, frankincense oil is found to have antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, analgesic, astringent, expectorant, and stimulant properties. Apart from this, other types of ingredients like alpha-pinene, octanol, bornyl acetate, linalool, etc. are also found in this oil due to which this oil is used to relieve swelling, headache, pain in joints, and muscles, skin problems, vomiting, and hiccups. It is used as a medicinal herb, in several home remedies and also for enhancing beauty. Apart from this, frankincense oil is also used in capsule form (for intake).
