Safed Musli is a famous medicinal plant used as a medicine in Ayurvedic, Unani, Allopathic and Homeopathic medicine due to its medicinal properties such as anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antitumor. What is Safed Musli?

Safed Musli is a tropical herb, commonly found in the wet forests of peninsular India. This herb belongs to the Liliaceae family whose botanical name is Chlorophytum borivilianum. There are mainly two types of Musli described in Ayurveda- safed or shwet musli and kaali musli. Although both are used in Ayurvedic medicine, from the Ayurvedic point of view, Safed Musli is more beneficial than Kaali Musli.

 

Importance of Safed Musli in Ayurveda

In Ayurveda, Safed Musli is used in Brumhana therapy. Safed Musli helps in improving sexual power by increasing libido. It also helps in increasing the level of testosterone. A study states that Safed Musli is used to prevent premature ejaculation as well as improve sperm count. According to another study, Safed Musli also increases strength and stamina. Apart from this, the use of Safed Musli is very beneficial in the treatment of Diabetes, Muscular weakness, Osteoarthritis, Fatigue, Bodybuilding etc.

 

Benefits of Safed Musli

Improves sexual health-

Safed Musli is also used for good sexual health. The stimulating properties found in Safed Musli helps to slow down ejaculation by increasing libido.

Consumption of Safed Musli is beneficial in increasing breast milk of mothers. For this, mix an equal quantity of safed musli powder and sugar candy and make a mixture. Now take 2 to 4 grams of this mixture with milk. By doing this, milk increases in the breasts.

Safed Musli promotes immunomodulatory. Many nutrients are present in Safed Musli that work by influencing the immune system. Apart from this, the anti-microbial properties present in Safed Musli help in keeping the body healthy by removing many types of bacteria.

Where is Safed Musli found?

Safed Musli is found mainly in the Western Himalayas, Uttarakhand and Punjab up to an altitude of about 1600 meters. Apart from this, it is also cultivated in Central India.
